I have been teaching 5th grade now for 2 plus years. I previously taught 4th grade for 28 years.   I grew up in a family that put a high value on education.  My father was a teacher/administrator/coach.  I knew I wanted to be a teacher while still in high school.  After graduating from Almond-Bancroft I attended UWSP for one year.  I then transferred to Winona State University and earned my bachelor's degree in education.  While at WSU I played baseball for 4 years.  I earned my master's degree from University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.  

I have 2 older brothers who are college teachers and a sister who works in the medical field.  In 2002, I married my wife Naomi.  We have two wonderful children who now are both high school students.  I love to spend time with my family.  My other interest is sports, especially coaching baseball.
